Gaby, Martin, Émilie, and Jean—these men and women whose lives revolve around commuting—are at the heart of this investigation. Readers are immersed in their daily lives, told through graphic novels, discovering the diversity of their situations and the different perceptions of this work-related mobility. Far from the usual clichés of the “highly mobile,” this book delves into the everyday lives of those we encounter every day.

An accompanying text by the researchers who conducted this investigation provides scientific insight into the repercussions and social situations linked to this high mobility. The study seeks to understand the situation of highly mobile individuals within contemporary society and how their mobile lifestyles are structured around the worlds of work and private life. To facilitate better support for highly mobile individuals, the Forum Vies Mobiles (Mobile Lives Forum), a research and exchange institute dedicated to exploring the future of mobility, concludes this work by proposing ideas for developing effective mobility policies. It will be up to businesses and public authorities to take them on board.
