Far from being a mere collection of reproductions, this work stands out for its thematic organization. Iranian photography is characterized by its degree of engagement and its political dimension. The artists’ approaches are rarely neutral, and for most of them, the choice of subjects and their execution remain a delicate matter.
Iranian Photography showcases the work of Iran’s greatest photographers, true icons, as well as photographs by emerging and independent contemporary artists.
