Céline Clanet spent five years traveling across the Kola Peninsula, an Arctic territory located in the far northwest of Russia. Kola is a harsh land, where inhabitants must endure two months of winter without sunlight and a whole year of Arctic climate. The book Kola takes the reader on a journey through this fragmented land, divided between heavy mining industries, secret military activities, and reindeer herding by an indigenous people, all separated by invisible borders.

Christian Garcin drew inspiration from the characters photographed by Céline Clanet to write a fictional short story where destinies and history intersect.
