Gabriel Bauret
This book originated from a photographic commission given by the city of Reims to five European photographers, overseen by Gabriel Bauret. Jordi Bernadó meticulously explored the diverse landscapes of Reims, venturing deep into the chalk quarries. He focused on details of reality that only he can see and capture with wit.
Arno Gisinger delved into the city’s history in numerous locations, working to revive the memory of several episodes that contribute to the creation of its heritage.
Claudio Sabatino juxtaposed monuments and modern urban development, and with an architect’s eye, he developed a route that led him from Notre-Dame Cathedral to the Chemin Vert district.
Paolo Verzone created on-site portraits of figures whose lives and activities are, in various ways, intertwined with the fate of the city’s heritage.
As for Sophie Zénon, she immediately turned her attention to the reserves of the Palais du Tau. The numerous statues that inhabit them were, in a magical instant, brought back to life by his photographic writing.
