To create this new work, Lionel Jusseret immersed himself in the daily life of a retirement home for six months. There he encountered an invisible community that finds itself on the margins of society through no fault of its own. These men and women, born between 1920 and 1945, are known as the silent generation. Having lived through World War II, they experienced hardship and worked hard all their lives. Not particularly demanding, they are described as fatalistic and conventional. This generalist and somewhat reductive view does little justice to these grandmothers and grandfathers, whose world of floral wallpaper alone echoes our childhood, our emotional and collective memories…

As usual, Lionel Jusseret immerses himself in an extreme social environment and returns with images of great humanity, avoiding any pathos.

The book presents full-page images, playing with portraits, situations, and decorative elements found on site.
