Their names are Antoine, Lola, Jean, Patrice, Yann, Vanessa, Gwendal, Casti, Joan, and Jérémy. They are brought together in this book under the lens of photographer Rudy Burbant.
Ten victims of police violence during “law enforcement” operations, ten women and men who were participating in demonstrations to demand better living and working conditions, to raise awareness about global warming, or simply gathered outside a soccer stadium or to participate in the Fête de la Musique.
IMPACT is a photographic account and testimony of lives turned upside down, of struggles to rebuild themselves and tireless battles to gain recognition for the harm they have suffered. The book presents their portraits and takes the time to capture what is happening in their lives, through their gazes as they face us, their scars, and then the discovery of their stories.
