Stéphane Couturier / Ingrid Luquet-Gad
Far removed from the traditional format of an exhibition catalog or monograph, SC instead adopts the conventions of the artist's book. The layout brings together the large-scale images the artist has created since the late 1990s through series such as "Urban Archaeology," "Melting Point," and the most recent work in Algiers focusing on the housing projects designed by Fernand Pouillon. Images from different periods are literally juxtaposed (as in film), allowing for striking comparisons between different eras across double-page spreads, highlighting the meticulousness that has driven this work for over twenty years.
The book's pages, not glued but bound with a colored elastic band, allow the reader to view the images in their entirety and to juxtapose them as they wish.
The limited edition of SC is limited to 50 numbered and signed copies, each accompanied by a digital print on 170g Fedrigoni Constellation Snow Country paper.
