Sylvestre Huet est un journaliste français spécialisé dans les sujets scientifiques depuis 1986. Il est l’auteur du blog sciences² , aujourd’hui sur le site Web du Monde.fr, auparavant sur celui du journal Libération, qu’il rejoint en 1995 et qu’il quitte fin janvier 2016, après 2 300 articles portant sur les sciences et les technologies, dont un grand nombre relatifs aux sciences du climat. Il a publié plusieurs ouvrages dont les plus récents sont : Les Dessous de la cacophonie climatique (La Ville brûle, 2015), Nucléaire, quels scénarios pour le futur ? avec Michel Chatelier, Patrick Criqui et Daniel Heuer (La Ville brûle, 2012), L’imposteur, c’est lui ; réponse à Claude Allègre (Stock, 2010), Changement climatique : les savoirs et les possibles, avec Hervé Le Treut, Olivier Godard et Jérôme Chapellaz (La Ville brûle, 2010).

Between a beautiful photography book and a book of text, this work invites the reader, through the photographer's lens, to enter what the uninitiated might consider a sanctuary: a place that remains mysterious and of which we have very few images, and to share the daily lives of the men who work there.
Sylvestre Huet's text provides a counterpoint to the images. Through and beyond the example of Fessenheim, and the announcement of its closure, scheduled for the end of 2016, he concisely and precisely addresses nuclear controversies, illuminating them with a broader reflection on the democratic control of powerful but risky technologies and on the sharing of knowledge.
