David-Alexandre Guéniot
David-Alexandre Guéniot, né en 1972 à Caen, est éditeur à Lisbonne. Après une formation en sciences politiques et en philosophie, il rencontre dans les années 1990, le chorégraphe portugais João Fiadeiro et s’intéresse à la danse contemporaine. Il travaille en tant que programmateur d’un théâtre à Genève puis administrateur d’une compagnie de danse et directeur d’un centre de résidences artistiques à Lisbonne. En 2003, il rencontre la photographe portugaise Patrícia Almeida et collabore à la préparation et production de ses expositions et livres. En 2011, ils décident de fonder la maison d’édition GHOST (acronyme de Guest et Host) afin de donner corps à des livres créés par des artistes.

Starting in 2016, Portuguese photographer Patrícia Almeida began collecting documents on photography. She sorted through examples to show her students, bought second-hand textbooks, and rediscovered her early negatives. She planned to write a book about her personal history of photography. A few months later, Patrícia died, leaving her project unfinished.
On the day of her death, the funeral director asked David-Alexandre Guéniot, the photographer's partner, for a portrait for the wake. “Her last photograph,” he thought at the time...
Patrícia's project was revived, but in reverse. It was about telling a story starting from the end. A story that combined photographic research with an intimate account of grief.
