Pour Éric Dexheimer, la photographie est ce qu’il reste de visible et de transmissible de ses expériences, entre politique et esthétique, la vie des uns et le savoir des autres. Ses parcours l’ont conduit dans l’univers des autistes, dans l’intimité de personnes âgées, de personnes en situation de handicap, dans la banlieue de Paris, de Maubeuge, auprès des enfants des rues dans le monde. Ces travaux ont tous donné lieu à des ouvrages et à des expositions dont les plus prestigieuses ont été présentées à la Bibliothèque nationale de France et à l’Unesco. Ils figurent dans des collections publiques et privées. Il est représenté par Signatures, maison de photographes.

Closing Fessenheim? The shutdown of the Fessenheim nuclear power plant is a political decision, made by the government and not a request from the Nuclear Safety Authority or EDF's management. What does it entail?
Between a beautiful photography book and a book of text, this work invites the reader, through the photographer's lens, to enter what the uninitiated might consider a sanctuary: a place that remains mysterious and of which we have very few images, and to share the daily lives of the men who work there.
Sylvestre Huet's text provides a counterpoint to the images. Through and beyond the example of Fessenheim, and the announcement of its closure, scheduled for the end of 2016, he concisely and precisely addresses nuclear controversies, illuminating them with a broader reflection on the democratic control of powerful but risky technologies and on the sharing of knowledge.
