Hélène Mauri, a nurse and photographer, asked people living with a serious progressive illness or at the end of their lives what photograph they would like to see or have. We all surely have a special place in our lives, perhaps a person or an object. They were free to request any photograph (landscape, portrait, etc.). Following this request, Hélène Mauri offered to take the photograph, whatever it might be and wherever it might be, and then bring them a print to hang on the wall of their hospital room.
